Artistry/Dentistry:

PART II

The Sindecuse Museum wishes to extend its Artistry/Dentistry exhibit with new submissions of two-dimensional artworks from SOD students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

THE ASSIGNMENT:

1. Drawings - Using your free-hand skills (or combination digital/AI), capture the tools of dentistry and hygiene. This could be a contemporary object or, it could be an artifact from the Sindecuse Museum. (There are opportunities to sketch in the Atrium, museum office, or borrow from the museum’s Education Collection).

2. Photography - Using your photography skills, or a combination of photography, digital graphics/AI, capture the tools of dentistry and hygiene in unique or unexpected settings. Use your own supplies, or request to borrow an artifact from the Museum's Education Collection.

Although a range of artworks may be considered, a preference, in the selection process, will be given to those entries that adhere to the criteria above. This allows the Museum to fulfill its mission to promote the history of dentistry, especially as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the School of Dentistry!

Accepting submissions of artwork through January 31, 2025. Email btibbits@umich.edu with electronic submissions (or to schedule drop-offs of originals).
